Houston - we have a problem

Here is another instance of infrastructure not keeping up with technology.  The Port of Houston is joined to the ocean by the 50 mile long Houston Ship Channel.  This artery is not wide enough to allow two-way traffic when 1100 feet long large container ships come to port.  Energy companies that export 50% of the total crude oil as well as the likes of excess gasoline or petrochemicals from Houston are crying foul.
