Surveys show shippers expect their truckload contract rates to increase by 6.9% in 2021 (last year they expected a 1.0% decline). But there is potential relief – December was the fourth straight month with over 40,000 preliminary orders for trailers. Recall carriers are buying 40K tractors per month too…all this assumes carriers can get drivers.
